JEFFERSONVILLE —
The Clark County Red Cross announced the 2012 Bales’ Humanitarian of the Year committee chair and co-chairs. These hard-working volunteers are Cheryl Seeders, chair; Amy Burnette and Sharon Carr, co-chairs.
This year’s Bales’ Humanitarian Gala will honor Charles “Chuck” Ledbetter Sr. and Richard P. “Dickie” Jones. The event will be Aug. 23 at Kye’s in Jeffersonville, 500 Missouri Ave. Doors will open at 6 p.m. for the silent auction and cocktails. The program will begin at 7 p.m. Individual tickets are $75.
Seeders is a longtime volunteer with the Clark County Red Cross and had served on the Board of Directors for four years. She has served on the Gala Committee for four years and is active in other activities at the Chapter. She is a 29-year employee of First Savings Bank in Clarksville, where she currently serves as assistant vice president — loan officer.
Burnette, a Jeffersonville native, is new to the Gala Committee this year and brings a fresh set of ideas to the table. She is an attorney with the firm Applegate Fifer Pulliam LLC in Jeffersonville, where her practice includes real estate, commercial real estate lending and municipal law.
Carr is a lifetime banking fixture in Clark County. After graduating from Indiana University, she began work at First Bank of Charlestown. She completed a 35-year career and retired from JP Morgan Chase. Carr returned to work at The New Washington State Bank for about four years, then moved to First Savings Bank as director of training.
Subcommittee chairs include: Lea Ann Lumpkins — corporate sponsor chair; Teresa Perkins — program ads chair; Lisa Green — auction chair; Harold Goodlett and Bill Resch — auction co-chairs.
The Gala Committee is accepting ticket orders, sponsorships, program ads and items for the silent and live auctions. For more information on these items, contact the Chapter at 812-283-8416 or phyllis.wilkins@redcross.org.
