> SOUTHERN INDIANA —
Special Olympics is hosting its sixth-annual Polar Plunge event Saturday, Feb. 16.
The frigid dip into Deam Lake in Borden has become one of the main fundraising events for Special Olympics Southern Indiana Area Two.
A minimum donation of $75 gets you in the water and all of the money raised goes to support Special Olympics Southern Indiana sports programs for hundreds of athletes with intellectual disabilities.
Participants can compete for prizes like best costume, plunge as a team or join the new super plunger program.
Registration begins at 9 a.m. with the plunge set for 11 a.m. Warm up at the after splash bash immediately following the plunge being held at Mercy Providence — 4915 Charlestown Road in New Albany — where there will be hot food, door prizes, auction items and entertainment.
Donate or register online at www.soindiana.org.
