NEW ALBANY —
The New Albany City Council is set to take third ballots on several ordinances this evening.
Among the items on the docket, the council is slated to take a final vote on new district voting maps, a $300,000 appropriation for the street department and a $127,200 appropriation for the police department, all of which passed on initial ballots.
The street appropriation is to help bridge a shortfall after the department’s budget was cut by the state. The bulk of the appropriation for the police department is for gasoline expenses.
The council is also set to take a final vote on an ordinance requiring most public documents such as board meeting minutes be filed in the City Clerk’s office.
