STARLIGHT —
St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, located in Starlight, again invites strawberry lovers young and old to the 34th annual Strawberry Festival on May 26.
Visitors can pile the berries high at the build-your-own strawberry shortcake station, and there are a variety of frozen strawberry fruit drinks and delicious fair foods.
Also featured will be buffet-style fried chicken and ham dinners. It’s complete with all the traditional fixings, including chicken and dumplings, homemade bread with strawberry butter, corn, slaw, green beans with new potatoes and dessert.
There will be carnival rides, booth games, bingo and more. Visitors can also enjoy live entertainment throughout the day. Adults can join around the tables in the wine and beer garden to enjoy beer and award winning wine from Huber Winery.
Round out the day at the street dance with The Rumors performing from 7:30 p.m. to 1 a.m.
