NEW ALBANY — A New Albany pharmacy was burglarized Monday night by at least two men who wore hoods over their faces to conceal their identities, according to a New Albany Police Department news release.

An alarm sounded at Mathes Pharmacy, located in the 1600 block of Charlestown Road, at approximately 10:20 p.m. on Monday. The alarm company reported to police that voices could be heard from inside the building.

The burglars used a concrete block to break a glass door to gain entry into the business, according to police. Prescription drugs were stolen, but police have not yet determined the amount taken.

The burglary was recorded on surveillance video that was turned over to investigators. After reviewing the video, police say that at least two people were involved in the crime.

Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to call the NAPD’s crime tip line at 812-948-NAPD.
