Police are asking for help in locating Stephanie Marie Kirk, 35, who has been missing since March 25.
She was last seen leaving a friend’s residence on the 1300 block of Spring Street in New Albany on her way to meet with a man at Uptown Bar along Vincennes Street. She’d apparently just met the man the night before, according to Clark County Sheriff's Department Capt. Rachael Lee. The two were headed to Shelbyville to pick up a motorcycle.
Lee was unsure if they were going to Shelbyville Ky., or Shelbyville, Ind.
“I can’t confirm they ever made it to that location,” said Lee. “We’ve exhausted all leads that have been made available to us.”
Lee said the department has been unable to locate the man. Though he’s not a suspect, she said investigators would like to speak with him to determine whether the two ever met up the day she went missing.
Kirk is about 5 feet 5 inches tall, 115 pounds, with long straight blonde hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing black jeans, a gray shirt with a cross logo and high-heel boots. She also had on metal wire earrings and hand jewelry that featured a skull and bones.
Her family has expressed concern about the disappearance, saying it’s both unusual and dangerous because she takes blood pressure medication.
Kirk has a daughter and typically lived with family between Charlestown and New Washington. On the weekends she’d been staying with a friend in New Albany. Her cell phone and credit card activity has been silent since the day she went missing.
