NEW ALBANY — Two of the four appointments to the New Albany Parks Board have been made by Mayor Jeff Gahan.
Gregory Henderzahs and Chad Hunter will serve on the board.
Henderzahs is a 43-year resident of New Albany, and is the part-time Director of Development Coordinator for Camp Quality Kentuckiana. He was employed with American Commercial Barge Lines for 39 years before retiring.
Henderzahs is a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church.
Hunter is the pastor of New Dimensions Christian Church in New Albany. He graduated from New Albany High School where he was a standout varsity basketball player.
He was selected to the Indiana High School All-Star Team in 1997, and is the all-time leading scoring leader at NAHS.
Hunter, along with his wife, founded New Dimensions Outreach Ministries in 2008. The organization offers community outreach and mentoring programs for youth.
The New Albany City Council voted, at the request of Mayor Jeff Gahan, to split the joint New Albany-Floyd County Parks last year. The city launched its own parks department on Jan. 1, and the parks board when convened will be charged with voting on expenses and other items.
