The convicted ringleader of Shanda Sharer's 1992 murder lost her appeal Tuesday to either be released from prison or have a new trial.
Melinda Loveless, 32, aided by her Indianapolis attorney Mark Small, had made a motion for post-conviction relief based on the claims she was provided ineffective counsel and that her Constitutional rights were violated.
Jefferson County Circuit Judge Ted Todd denied that motion in court Tuesday. Small and Jefferson Prosecutor Chad Lewis were not available for immediate comment.
