Man reportedly attacked with shovel at party

By MATT THACKER

The Clarksville Police Department is investigating a report that a man attacked one person with a shovel and another with an ax handle at a party.

The party took place Sunday at a residence on Arlington Avenue at Park Avenue. Police were called to the scene at about 10:45 p.m.

One man at the party said that the suspect, known only as “Bo,” was trying to kiss and grab women against their wishes, according to a CPD report.

The alleged victim said the suspect tried to kiss his girlfriend and grab her inappropriately. When the boyfriend confronted the man, he allegedly swung a shovel at him several times.

The shovel struck the man’s hand and left a laceration that required hospitalization, the report states. The victim said the man also swung an ax handle at another person at the party.

Man arrested for intimidation with firearm

A New Albany man was arrested for allegedly pointing a shotgun at people on the 1000 block of State Street in Clarksville.

Several witnesses told officers that 25-year-old Jonathan Rodewig approached a woman outside her home and pointed a shotgun at her, according to a Clarksville Police Department report.

According to the police report, Rodewig and another man were searching for a couple that they claim owed them money. The couple had previously lived in the area but had moved, witnesses said.

People in the area said a fight ensued between the two suspects and other people in the area. One person said that one suspect “racked” the shotgun and a shell fell on the ground.

Police later located Rodewig and found a 12-gauge shotgun and several knives in his vehicle. He was arrested for class C felony intimidation with a firearm and class D felony pointing a firearm.

Brandon A. Henson, 23, of Clarksville, was also in the vehicle and was arrested for failing to appear on trespassing charges in Floyd County.
