Meth lab uncovered in Clarksville

A 47-year-old woman was arrested at her home in Clarksville on Monday after police say she had recently been operating a methamphetamine lab.

Paula Walton, of the 500 block of Newman Avenue, was arrested on numerous felony charges following an investigation by the Indiana State Police Clandestine Lab Team and the New Albany Police Department’s FLEX unit, according to an NAPD press release.

Walton’s home was searched at about 9:50 p.m. after information developed in New Albany, according to the press release. Police found marijuana and evidence of a meth lab in the house.

Walton was transported to the Michael L. Becher Adult Corrections Complex in Jeffersonville.

She faces preliminary charges of dealing in methamphetamine, a class B felony; operating an illegal drug lab, a class D felony; possession of methamphetamine, a class D felony; maintaining a common nuisance, a class D felony; possession of marijuana, a class A misdemeanor; and possession of paraphernalia, a class A misdemeanor.

Walton has a 2003 conviction for possession of meth and possession of marijuana in Clark County. She was sentenced to four years of probation in that case.
