Library begins new year of book talks
The New Albany-Floyd County Public Library will host a new year of the Brown Bag and a Book Noon Book Discussion, at noon Jan. 20, with a discussion of “The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society” by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows
Attendees should bring their lunch while we discuss the story, which begins at the end of World War II when a writer starts a correspondence with the members of a unique book club that has been formed as an alibi to protect its members from arrest by the Germans. It is a delightfully endearing story told through the letters of the members of The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. What is potato peel pie? Why not read the book and join us as we discuss the book and taste the pie!
Call or visit the reference desk at the library 812-949-3523 for more information.
