BOYS' GOLF: Floyd A-team fourth at Lafayette Jeff

LAFAYETTE —  

Floyd Central fired a team score of 323 on the par-72 Battleground Golf Course at the Lafayette Jeff Invitational on Saturday. 

Hamilton Southeastern won the tournament with a 306.

Devin Jenkins and Jack Sparrow paced the Highlanders, shooting 80 apiece. Also for Floyd Central, Austin Peckham carded an 81, while Alex Beyer and Daniel Shepard each turned in 82s. 

• Floyd third at Providence Invitational: The Floyd Central B varsity team placed third at the Legends of Providence Invitational at Champions Pointe on Saturday with a team score of 324. 

Leading the way for the Highlanders was Clayton Crum with a 77. 

Also for the Highlanders, Jay Holderman shot a 79, Connor Welch hit an 81, Eric Lamm had an 87 and Hank Duncan chipped in a 90. 

Providence placed seventh at the tournament. Leading the way for the Pioneers was Bryce Very, who shot a 74. 

Also for Providence, Robert Waiz and Cory Cahalan each shot an 83, Mitchell Allender hit a 92 and Max Hupp turned in a 100.
