NEW ALBANY —
Indiana University Southeast junior Cameron Mitchell was named the Kentucky-Indiana Athletic Conference men’s basketball Player of the Week by KIAC officials in Berea, Ky., on Monday.
The award is Mitchell’s third of the season.
In the Grenadiers’ only game last week, Mitchell led Indiana Southeast to a 108-75 conference win against Point Park. Mitchell finished the game with 25 points, eight rebounds, two assists and three steals. He shot 55.6 percent (10-of-18) from the field and 55.6 percent (5-of-9) from behind the 3-point line.
The junior guard leads IU Southeast and is fourth in the conference in points per game (18.4).
IU Southeast is ranked No. 17 in the latest NAIA Division II Coaches’ Poll.
The Grenadiers are 11-3 overall and 2-0 in league play. They will return to action on January 2 when they host Miami-Middletown.
