Area players help South beat North in All-Star Cup

Floyd Central seniors Carmen Schreiber and Kadey Welch and Providence senior Megan Jakoby helped the South All-Star team defeat the North in the 14th annual North South Senior All-Star Tennis Cup last Sunday at Center Grove High School, 30-23. The Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association sponsored the All-Star Cup.

Jakoby had the best day among the three area players. She went 1-1 at No. 4 doubles and won her lone No. 3 singles match. Schreiber went 1-1 in doubles action and 0-1 in singles, while Welch was 1-2 in doubles action.

Floyd Central head coach Rick Miller helped coach the South All-Stars.
