Jeff selling semi-state tickets Wednesday and Thursday
The Jeffersonville High School athletic department will be selling tickets for Saturday’s Class 4A Seymour Semi-state from noon-6 p.m. on Wednesday and 3:30-6 p.m. on Thursday in the lobby of Johnson Arena.
Tickets are $8. No reserved seating will be available.
The Red Devils will take on Indianapolis Cathedral in the semi-state at about 6:30 p.m. on Saturday at Scott Gym in Seymour.
All-SAC team announced
Four players from Southern Athletic Conference champion Borden have been named to the all-SAC team. The Braves won the Class A Loogootee Regional last Saturday and will play in the Class A Seymour Semi-state this coming Saturday against University.
Borden senior guard Billy Kirchgessner has been selected as the SAC’s Most Outstanding Player. Teammates Jalen McCoy, Garrett Vick and Cody Bachman joined Kirchgessner on the all-conference team.
New Washington seniors Ian Hughes and Tim Cochran have made the squad along with Henryville senior Tyler Collins.
Other selections to the all-SAC team are Lanesville’s Kevin Zollman and Justin Miller, South Central’s Kyle Pease and Crothersville’s Gene Hodge.
New Washington coach Jonathan May earned SAC Coach of the Year honors.

Kimmel ends up fifth in ARCA Mobile 200
Clarksville native Frank took over the ARCA Racing Series points lead with a fifth-place finish in the ARCA Mobile 200 last Saturday at Mobile (Ala.) International Speedway.
Kimmel led five laps during the race from lap 75-79. The nine-time ARCA champion is tied for first place in the ARCA point standings with Mason Mingus as both drivers have 420 points.
Grant Enfinger was the race winner, followed by Kyle Benjamin, Anderson Bowen and Mingus.
Sellersburg resident Will Kimmel, Frank Kimmel’s nephew, wrecked his car in qualifying and was unable to start the race.
ARCA’s next race will be the Kentuckiana Ford Dealers ARCA 200 on Sunday, April 28 at Salem Speedway.

• Jeff Thompson (Louisville baseball, Floyd Central graduate, Jr.) — top performance: winning pitcher in a starting role in the Cardinals’ 12-4 home victory over Pittsburgh on Friday, seven innings pitched, three runs allowed (all earned), three hits, seven strikeouts, three walks; notes: Thompson became the sixth pitcher in U of L history to earn 10 or more victories in a season on Friday; he is one win away from tying the school record for most victories in a season; Friday’s win clinched the Cardinals a share of the Big East Conference championship; they claimed the outright conference title on Saturday with a 7-4 home triumph over the Panthers; team records: 46-10 overall, 20-4 Big East; Thompson’s record: 10-1. -
