Bowls to fill

CLARKSVILLE — Providence seniors glazed clay bowls Thursday morning in Mrs. Donna Burden's art class. Art students have created 150 bowls to be used for Providence High School's Empty Bowls, a fundraiser to benefit local soup kitchens. The event will be Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. in the school's activity center. The bowls will be filled with soup provided by Sam's Food and Spirits and available for a minimum donation of $15. Purchasers may keep the bowl as a reminder that every day there are bowls that remain empty and hunger persists.
