Indiana reports 9 new swine flu cases

INDIANAPOLIS — Health officials have confirmed nine new cases of swine flu in Indiana, raising the state’s total to 70.

A State Department of Health spokeswoman said Tuesday there are no reports of serious illnesses in Indiana caused by the virus.

Four of the new cases are in Marion County, two are in Porter County and one each is in Hamilton, Lake and Tippecanoe counties.

The swine flu virus has been confirmed in patients in 10 Indiana counties. Marion County has the most, with 38 confirmed cases, followed by Lake County with 17.
