EVANSVILLE —
After just missing out on a trip to the state finals a year ago, Floyd Central’s 106-pound senior Terrance Kennedy finished third at Saturday’s Evansville Reitz Semi-State to earn his second state finals trip on Saturday.
Kennedy (39-1) will be joined at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on Friday by the Jeffersonville duo of Jasi Coureur and Gavan Jolley-Little. Coureur and Jolley-Little each finished fourth in their class at the Ford Center on Saturday to qualify for their first state finals.
Coureur (42-9) will wrestle in the 113-pound division and Jolley-Little (46-6) in the 285-pound class on Friday.
Floyd Central’s Chase Herron and Nick Ottersbach fell just short of qualifying for a state spot. Herron is a junior and should get another shot in a year. Ottersbach is a Highlander senior.
Corydon Central’s Bailey LaHue improved to 38-2 with a championship in the 120-pound division. Bloomington South won the team semi-state championship, edging Franklin by 12 points. Floyd Central finished 10th and Jeffersonville placed 19th.
