Free admission for NA students for Friday’s girls’ game
New Albany High School students with a student ID who bring two cans of food for Friday night’s home girls’ basketball game against Providence will be admitted free.
The canned goods will go toward the school’s annual canned food drive. The varsity contest will tip off around 7:30 p.m.
In addition, student season tickets will be sold at the game for $15 and one lucky student who is a student ticket holder will win a $100 Visa gift card. Adult season tickets will be sold at the game for $30.
SC season tickets on sale
Silver Creek High School is currently selling season tickets for the upcoming boys’ and girls’ basketball seasons in the school’s main office. Tickets can be purchased during the week from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. through Saturday, Dec. 1.
Boys’ season tickets for nine home games are $35 for adults and $25 for students. Girls’ season tickets for eight home games are $31 for adults and $22 for students.
Season tickets all boys’ and girls’ contests, including freshman games, are $55 for adults and $40 for students.
All season tickets will be sold at the first home girls’ game on Saturday, Nov. 17 against Henryville and the first home boys’ contest on Tuesday, Nov. 20 versus Henryville.
C’town’s Burdin named IBCA Player of the Week
Charlestown girls’ basketball player Justice Burdin has been named the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association/Subway Player of the Week.
The 5-foot-11 sophomore wing player notched a double-double as Charlestown began its season with a 64-37 triumph over Southwestern last Thursday. Burdin tallied 21 points and 14 rebounds.

IU Southeast sophomore named all-KIAC
IU Southeast sophomore middle blocker Sara Schum has been named to the all-Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference second team by the league’s volleyball coaches.
Schum, a Louisville native and Holy Cross graduate, finished the season ranked eighth in the conference in kills per set with 2.83. She tied for 11th in the KIAC with 306 kills. This is her second straight all-conference selection.

C’town selling sectional champion merchandise
The Charlestown football team is currently selling Class 3A sectional championship merchandise.
Short sleeve T-shirts are $10 each. Long sleeve T-shirts are $15 each. Crew neck sweatshirts are $20 apiece, while hooded sweatshirts are $30 each. Stadium blankets are $20 apiece.
Merchandise will be available for pick-up at the high school from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1.

IU Southeast ranked No. 20 in coaches’ poll
The IU Southeast softball team is ranked No. 20 in the preseason NAIA Coaches’ Poll that was released on Tuesday.
The Grenadiers return nine players from last year’s team that advanced to the final eight in the NAIA tournament and finished with a 34-20 record and a No. 15 national ranking.
This is the first time the softball program has been ranked in the coaches’ poll entering a season.
The Grenadiers open their season on Feb. 22 when they host Cardinal Stritch University at 1 p.m.
