> SOUTHERN INDIANA —
Jeff GRC 9-10 parents say thanks
The Jeffersonville/GRC 9-10-year-old All-Stars headed to Indianapolis (Franklin Township) for the state tournament in mid-July after becoming the District V champs.
You would be proud of these boys and their dedication to the sport and the way they represented Jeffersonville. The team returned home after six days after losing a heartbreaker at the semi-finals.
We want to thank everyone who supported us during our trip with e-mails, phone calls and monetary donations. All of you who gave and helped at the road block — we appreciate you.
We especially want to thank Sheriff Danny Rodden, Mr. John Woehrle, Coach Derek Ellis, Jeffersonville GRC Little League, Jeffersonville FOP No. 100 and Mr. Ron Grooms.
A special thanks goes to Clark County Sheriff’s Department Maj. Chuck Adams and the Jeffersonville Fire Department for helping at the roadblock, Sara Schutz for acknowledging the team at Riverstage and Jeffersonville police and fire departments for our big send off.
Additionally, thanks to The Evening News for press coverage while we were away.
We also want to thank our coaches: Brent Falkenstein, Tim Borden, Bennie Day and Dane Astle. Thank you for the enormous amount of time devoted to coaching the boys. We appreciate everything you do.
The 9-10-year-old All Stars thank everyone that helped make this happen. They had a great experience and have memories for a lifetime.
