To all the people in New Albany, Floyd County and surrounding counties that were affected by the Aug. 4, 2009, flooding: I, too, was hit by the flooding. It almost completely destroyed my home. The system, once again, has let everyone of us down. I have written letters to the governor and the president, but it does not matter. We are left out in the cold when just a few miles away they were taken care of. They think they have won, but we cannot give up. My heart and prayers go out to all of you. Special thanks to State Rep. Ed Clere for being there and always answering his phone when I call (I know your hands are tied, but I really appreciate everything you have done).
