JEFFERSONVILLE —
A Jeffersonville man was arrested early Sunday morning for allegedly breaking into an Otisco home and getting involved in an altercation with a resident.
Aaron A. Huff, 25, was charged Monday with class C felony criminal confinement causing injury, class D felony theft and class D felony residential entry.
The Clark County Sheriff’s Department was called at 10:30 p.m. Saturday to the 15200 block of Gum Corner Road in Otisco to investigate a complaint of residential entry, according to a probable-cause affidavit. Two women claimed Huff started banging on the door as they watched television in the living room. Before they could answer the door, he allegedly busted the glass, reached in and unlocked the door.
According to police, Huff grabbed one woman as she tried to call 911. When she tried to retrieve her phone, he allegedly grabbed her and pulled her down the hallway. After Huff left, the residents realized he had dropped his phone on the floor, and they used it to call 911. Police observed dried blood on the sleeve of one woman’s shirt.
Police found Huff later that night. He claimed he had been jumped and robbed by two men at the Gum Corner Road residence. However, police found no evidence to support his version of events.
When Huff was asked why he did not contact police after being attacked, he said it was because the police always blame him for everything. It’s unclear if the man and two women knew each other.
He faces two to eight years in prison for the class C felony and six months to three years for the class D felony. He is being held in the Michael L. Becher Adult Corrections Complex.
