OTISCO —
Jeffersonville Police Department detectives are continuing to investigate the shooting that took place in an apartment complex Tuesday night that sent a man to the hospital.
Ahmori Scott, 27, remains in the intensive care unit at University of Louisville Hospital, police said Thursday evening.
Investigators took into custody a 43-year-old man, who has admitted to shooting Scott, soon after the incident. Police are not releasing the shooter’s name, and he has since been released.
Police have issued no preliminary charges, and investigators said they anticipate to soon hand the case over to the Clark County Prosecutor’s Office.
Investigators said they are investigating the possibility that the shooter acted out of self-defense.
Scott was shot about 11 p.m. at Las Casitas Apartments on Village Green Boulevard, located near Middle Road. He sustained a single bullet wound to the torso area. Police said Scott and the shooter both live on the ground floor in the same building of the complex.
The shooting was the climax of a day-long confrontation between two families, police said, that resided at Las Casitas.
