Reception to back campaign

A reception in support of Richard Mourdock, Indiana State Treasurer and Republican nominee for U.S. Senate, will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, at the Eichenberger Home, 6989 County Line Road, New Albany.

Special guests will be Attorney General Greg Zoeller and State Republican Chairman Eric Holcomb. The event is being hosted by Dr. Brad and Tami Black, Dr. Dan and Stephanie Eichenberger, and Ned and Sue Pfau.

UTICA

Bean supper on the way Saturday

The Utica Baptist Church Old Fashion Bean Supper and Auction will be from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at the James Noble Woods Building/Preservation Building in Utica.

Dinner will be $8 for soup, cornbread, barbecue, slaw, dessert and drink or $6 for soup, cornbread, hot dog, slaw, dessert and drink. Kids’ meals will be offered for $4.

There will be an auction at 4 p.m. with lots of great items including an IU bench, Renfro Valley tickets with Jacuzzi room, tickets for Holiday World Splashin’ Safari, Louisville Mega Caverns and Actors Theatre, an oil change and many gift certificates and gift baskets.



NEW ALBANY

NARFE group to meet Wednesday

The National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association of New Albany, Chapter 1777, will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, at Tucker’s American Favorites Restaurant, 2442 State St., New Albany.

Lunch may be individually purchased from the menu. No reservations are required. All members, spouses and guests are welcome. The principle speaker will be Linda Moeller, Floyd County clerk, presenting information on new county precinct redistricting and future voting changes. For more information, call 812-923-3626.
