NEW ALBANY —
A New Albany woman was killed at her home Friday following a reported domestic disturbance call, according to New Albany police.
Police say Amanda McAnelly, 23, was shot at 55 Plaza Square Apartments by a man she has a child with and was found dead when officers arrived.
Ivan E. Chambers, 27, who has a child with McAnelly, was taken into custody by New Albany police after officers arrived at the home at 9:20 p.m. Friday.
Officers reported that Chambers, who was in the home on their arrival, is preliminarily charged with murder, and additional charges are pending.
Chambers is being held in the Floyd County Jail.
