100 degree temps in this week’s forecast

> SOUTHERN INDIANA — Temperatures are predicted to hit or top 100 degrees later this week as the first major heat wave of the summer is expected to occupy the Ohio Valley.

The National Weather Service in Louisville calls for a high of 100 on Thursday and 101 on Friday and the hot weather will continue with highs in the upper 90s for the weekend.

This will come after a brief cool-down today, when the high is forecasted at 82.

The lows Thursday night through Saturday night are predicted to be in the mid-90s. There is little hope of rain in the forecast, with only a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms or showers Saturday and Saturday night.

As of press time Monday, no heat-related warnings had been issued by the weather service.
