Salute to Elvis at Huber farm
On Sunday, Dec. 9, Joe Huber’s Family Farm and Restaurant will host a holiday salute to Elvis in a production by Robert Shaw and the Lonely Street Band.

NEW ALBANY
NAACP banquet scheduled next week
The annual New Albany/Floyd County NAACP Freedom Fund Banquet will be held at 7 p.m. Dec. 14 at The Grand, 138 E. Market St., New Albany.
The speaker will be the Rev. Eric A. Johnson, pastor at Greater Galilee Church in Louisville with music by The Spiritual Wonders. Tickets are $40.

Indiana Room offering tours
There have been many changes taking place at the Stuart B. Wrege Indiana Room at the New Albany-Floyd County Public Library over the past four months. During the week of Dec. 10-15 Matt Eidem, Indiana Room archivist, will be giving tours of areas of the Indiana Room that patrons will not have access to throughout the rest of the year.
The tour will consist of the Indiana Room, its two collection storage areas, and a demonstration of the library’s new overhead scanner which will be used to digitize fragile materials. Tours will last 20 to 30 minutes.
Tours are available at the following date and time: Dec. 10-12, 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 to 5 p.m.; Dec. 13, 1 to 3:30 p.m. and 5 to 7:30 p.m.; Dec. 15, 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 to 5 p.m.
JEFFERSONVILLE
JHS choir holding Christmas Concert
The Jeffersonville High School choir, under the direction of Leslie Rajchel, will present a Christmas concert at 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9 at First Presbyterian Church in Jeffersonville.
The church is located at 222 Walnut St. and the concert is free and open to the public.
Bazaar coming to Cook church
Cook Memorial United Methodist Church, 1025 Allison Lane, Jeffersonville, will sponsor a Christmas bazaar and cookie walk from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 8, in the church fellowship hall.
Homemade cookies will be $5 a pound.
Bridgepoint hosting holiday bazaar
Bridgepoint Elementary School will host a Holiday Bazaar for students, parents and the community from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8.
Breakfast will be served from 9 to 11 along with the opportunity for children to have their picture taken with Santa Claus. Make-and-take craft stations will also be available for children, with the help of the Jeffersonville High School Anchor Club.
An array of vendors will be present with a variety of crafts and gift items to help cross things off the holiday shopping list. Doughnuts and hot chocolate will be available until 11 a.m., with the Jeffersonville Zaxby’s providing appetizers until 2 p.m.

NARFE Christmas party coming up
The National Association of Retired Federal Employees Jeffersonville Chapter 381 will hold its Christmas party at noon Tuesday, Dec. 11, at Logan’s Roadhouse in Clarksville.
Members and guests will order from the menu. Members are asked to consider bringing a table centerpiece for a door prize or a dessert to share. Special musical entertainment will be provided by Sarah Jones. No reservations are required.
Ag outlook on the way
The Purdue Extension Service of Clark County will present a program titled Agricultural Outlook 2013 at 7:30 a.m. Dec. 18 at the Clark County 4-H Fairgrounds, 9608 Ind. 62, Charlestown.
The program is free to the public and is designed to help farmers, land owners, input suppliers, and those interested in agriculture make better business decisions in the coming year. The program will be presented by Dr. Chris Hurt, an Agricultural Economist from the Purdue campus. Breakfast is provided, and reservations should be made by calling 812-256-4591 by Dec. 14.
