Jeffersonville High School Air Force JROTC Boosters Club will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, at Jeffersonville High School, 2315 Allison Lane, Jeffersonville.
The meeting, held in the AFJROTC classroom, is open to the public.
Steamboat race party at Kingfish
There will be a Great Steamboat Race Party, sponsored by the Mudd sisters to benefit Alzheimer’s, from 5 to 11 p.m., May 2, at Kingfish Restaurant, Riverside Drive, Jeffersonville.
There will be live music by The Louisville Crashers, cash bar and heavy hors d’oeuvres and dancing with D.J. Glenn Smith.

‘Be Local’ Expo on May 1 at the Grand
Develop New Albany is inviting residents to the Downtown New Albany “Be Local” Expo on May 1 at The Grand Banquet Hall. Develop New Albany and New Albany First believe in supporting their fine downtown restaurants, retail stores, commercial businesses, nonprofits and every business that calls downtown New Albany home. NA-FC art competition entries to be displayed at Carnegie Center
The Carnegie Center for Art and History in New Albany will open its the 40th annual New Albany-Floyd County Secondary Schools Art Show and Competition display May 4. The exhibit includes work from grades five through 12 and will be on display May 4-19, 2012. Grades nine through 12 will exhibit their art work at the Carnegie Center during regular museum hours. Student work in grades five through eight will be exhibited at the New Albany-Floyd County Public Library during regular library hours. There will be a reception and awards presentation for all the artists in the exhibit and those who support and encourage them from 6:30 to 8 p.m. May 17 with awards presented at 7 p.m. at St. Mark’s United Church of Christ Fellowship Hall at.
This event is free and the public is invited to attend.
Motorcycle ride coming up
The Christian Motorcycle Association will sponsor a Run Son Biker Sunday. Bike registration starts at 9 a.m. with kickstands up at noon for a 100 mile scenic ride, rain or shine, May 6. The ride starts and concludes at Graceland Baptist Church, 3600 Kamer Miller Road, New Albany.
The cost is $15 per person or $20 a couple. There will be a free meal after the ride with door prizes, auction items and fun and fellowship. For more information call 502-287-3773.

Alumni basketball game at New Washington
New Washington High School SADD is sponsoring an alumni basketball game for the American Cancer Society in memory of Mariam “SUG” Matthews, 6 to 10 p.m., May 12, at New Washington High School, 226 Ind.. 62, New Washington. Registration will begin at 5:30 p.m.
There will also be a free-throw and three-point contest.
