Indoor yard sale is Saturday

The Bright Beginnings Preschool of Silver Street United Methodist Church, 413 Silver St., New Albany, will be hosting an indoor yard and bake sale from 8 a.m. to  1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, at the church.

Tables can be rented for $15 and items can also be donated.

Fiesta at the NA-FC Library

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month at the New Albany-Floyd County Public Library with a fiesta from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

September is Hispanic Heritage Month because several Latin American countries including Mexico gained their independence in the month of September. There will be music, food, activities for kids and door prizes.

NAHS fundraiser at Sam’s

The New Albany High School tennis team will hold a fundraiser from 5 to 9 p.m. Sept. 6 at Sam’s Food and Spirits, 3800 Payne Koehler Road, New Albany.

Sam’s will give the tennis team 10 percent of all sales that.

Friends book sale Saturday

The Friends of the New Albany-Floyd County Public Library will hold a book sale in the library’s Annex Building from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

All books in the fiction section will be discounted by 50 percent. Regular prices are $1 for hardbacks; 50 cents for videos, DVDs and paperbacks; 25 cents for audio book cassette tapes; and 10 cents for magazines. Children’s books are available at prices of $1 or less.
