JEFFERSONVILLE —
Jeffersonville’s outdoor ice rink will open for its second season Nov. 23, the day after Thanksgiving.
The rink will again be located at the corner of Spring and Market streets in downtown Jeffersonville.
Hours of operation
• Monday-Thursday (Nov. 26-Dec. 21) — 4-8 p.m.
• Sunday-Thursday — noon-9 p.m.
• Friday and Saturday — noon-10 p.m.
• Christmas Eve — noon-4 p.m.
• Christmas Day — Closed
The rink will be open on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. The rink will be open only on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays after Jan. 6.

• $8 per person
• $6 Group Rate (10 or more)
• $2 Discount — Bring your own skates
• Tuesdays — Eat local night (kids skate for $4 with Jeffersonville restaurant receipt)
• Thursdays — Shop local night (kids skate for $4 with Jeffersonville merchant receipt)
Special events
• Fridays — Teen Night with a DJ from 7-10 p.m.
• Sundays — Skate with Santa from 1-4 p.m.
• Sunday, Dec. 9 — Nutcracker on Ice - 11 a.m.
• Saturday, Dec. 22 — Ugly Christmas Sweater Party, $2 off admission if you wear an “ugly” Christmas sweater.

Emergency officials stage bus wreck, gas spill at FCHS
A school bus had turned over after being struck by a gas tanker, and as the truck leaked chemicals, emergency crews rushed in to try and rescue the kids who were trapped inside.
Thankfully Friday’s crash scene was only a simulation, but for Floyd County emergency officials, it was an important test to prepare them for a real life scenario. -

POLICE: New Albany mother killed two children, then herself
New Albany Police Chief Sherri Knight said severe mental illness is what led to New Albany resident Jaime Clutter to drown her two children, then herself, in Falling Run Creek on March 13. The bodies were found where the creek runs through Binford Park.
