Vote expected on Brown's Station Way

Clarksville council to hold meeting, workshop

CLARKSVILLE — Removal of the Lewis and Clark Parkway overpass at Brown's Station Way should get a definitive vote by the Clarksville Town Council on Monday night.

The council will hold two meetings that evening. A regular meeting begins at 7 p.m., followed by a workshop at 7:30 p.m. Both meetings take place at Clarksville Town Hall, 2000 Broadway and are open with the public.

Taking out the overpass and replacing it with a level intersection is on the first meeting’s agenda. The project has been long discussed as a means of opening the area to commerce and addressing drainage The previous town council actually had an agreement with the state to move forward, but it’s been on hold since a new group of council members took office in January.

ALSO ON THE AGENDA

• Request for resident only parking

• Bench advertising

• Consideration of odor control contract

• Consideration of addendum to HDR contract

• Approval of JAG grant application

• Consideration of lease proposal for fire station
