Rebates offered to Vectren customers

By DAVID A. MANN

Vectren customers in Indiana can earn hundreds of dollars in rebates when purchasing high-efficiency natural gas heating equipment.

Indiana Heating and Cooling Incentive Program, which began Feb. 1, allocates about $6.1 million in federal stimulus funds to state residents. Additionally, through Vectren’s Conservation Connection program, customers can access Vectren’s rebates for high-efficiency heating equipment and earn up to an additional $500 toward the purchase of a new natural gas furnace or boiler.

Natural gas furnaces purchased under the program must be 92 percent efficient or greater. The state offers a $300 rebate; the company offers a $200 rebate.

Natural gas boilers have to be 85 percent efficient or greater. The state and the company each offer a $500 rebate on those.

Rebate forms and a list of qualifying products can be found at vectren.com or by calling 866-240-8476. Forms must be postmarked and submitted within 30 days of purchase. To qualify, customers must use natural gas as their primary source of heat.
