FLOYD COUNTY —
Floyd County Commissioners' attorney Richard Fox, 58, was arrested Thursday night following a traffic stop at 10:06 along Greentree Boulevard for operating while intoxicated.
Officials with Indiana State Police said the agency was not permitted, at the moment, to release any information of the arrest because no other criminal offense had taken place.
Michael L. Becher Adult Correctional Complex officials confirmed, however, that Fox was booked into the jail at 12:17 a.m. Friday and that he had been charged with two counts of OWI, class A and class C misdemeanors.
A second telephone call to ISP revealed that the A misdemeanor stems from Fox’s impairment, and the C misdemeanor charge follows his testing at .08 BAC or above.
“I take full responsibility for my actions,” Fox said Friday when contacted at his office. Fox also said he had retained counsel.
Commissioners’ President Steve Bush said he was aware of the arrest, but did not want to make a comment at this time.
