LOUISVILLE —
A number of Transit Authority of River City routes will not be in service on Monday, May 28, Memorial Day, but Sunday schedules will be operated on all lines.
There will be no service on the following lines in Indiana:
65 X — Southern Indiana Express
73 — Charlestown Road Express
74 — Jeffersonville Park & Ride
* UPS shuttles will be working on Memorial Day.
In Louisville, several TARC routes will be detoured between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Monday, for the Mayor's Hike, Bike and Paddle Event. The detours will occur on Fourth Street, both northbound and southbound; Sixth Street, both northbound and southbound; on routes 19 and 21 westbound; on routes 2, 71 and 72 southbound; and on route 31 westbound.
Kennedy Bridge detours
In addition to detours and services changes on the Memorial Day holiday, TARC has detailed a number of service changes while repairs are made to the Interstate 65 Kennedy Bridge.
Work is scheduled to begin at midnight Monday and continue through midnight on Friday, June 1.
TARC detours include:
Route #74 — Jeffersonville a.m., from Ninth and Market streets, right on Market Street, left on Second Street, onto Clark Memorial Bridge, right on Court Avenue, left on Broadway to the regular route.
Route #65 — Southern Indiana Express 65 p.m., from Ninth Street and Market Street, right on Market Street, left on Second Street onto Clark Memorial Bridge, follow U.S. 31, cross Stansifer Avenue and Eastern Boulevard, merge left onto I-65 North to the regular route.
Route #74 — Jeffersonville p.m., from Muhammad Ali Boulevard continue to Second Street, right on Second Street onto Clark Memorial Bridge, right on Court Avenue, left on Broadway to the regular route.
Route #65 — Southern Indiana Express p.m., from Muhammad Ali Boulevard continue to Second Street, right on Second Street onto Clark Memorial Bridge, follow U.S. 31, cross Stansifer Avenue and Eastern Boulevard, merge left onto I-65 North to the regular route.

Emergency officials stage bus wreck, gas spill at FCHS
A school bus had turned over after being struck by a gas tanker, and as the truck leaked chemicals, emergency crews rushed in to try and rescue the kids who were trapped inside.
Thankfully Friday’s crash scene was only a simulation, but for Floyd County emergency officials, it was an important test to prepare them for a real life scenario. -

POLICE: New Albany mother killed two children, then herself
New Albany Police Chief Sherri Knight said severe mental illness is what led to New Albany resident Jaime Clutter to drown her two children, then herself, in Falling Run Creek on March 13. The bodies were found where the creek runs through Binford Park.
