CLARKSVILLE — The investigation into the Nov. 27 murder of a Clarksville man is ongoing, but police on Wednesday said they have little information and no suspects in the case.
Right now, police are focusing their investigation into the murder of Billy Ray Chambers on four to five persons of interest based on Chambers’ phone records, Clarksville Chief Detective Darrell Rayborn said.
“We’re not considering anybody a suspect as of now, but there’s people that we think we need to talk to, just with the relationships with Chambers,” Rayborn said.
Chambers, 39, was found fatally shot inside his home along Parkwood Drive in Clarksville. Chambers’ 2001 Ford Mustang Cobra was missing from the residence and witness reported seeing a man speeding away from the home earlier in the afternoon. The car was discovered by officers at an undisclosed location several hours later.
Three Clarksville police officers are investigating Chambers’ death, Rayborn said.
“Other than having these people we want to talk to, we don’t know a lot,” Rayborn added.
Anyone with information into the murder should call Clarksville Police at 812-288-7121.
