NEW ALBANY —
On behalf of the New Albany Bicentennial Commission, the Carnegie Center for Art and History in New Albany will host the New Albany Bicentennial logo contest with a deadline for entry of Oct. 23.
The New Albany Bicentennial logo contest winner will be announced and the logo unveiled to the public during a special event, date and location to be determined. After unveiling, the winning design will become the official New Albany Bicentennial logo and will be used in various promotional materials for the Bicentennial.
The logo will be featured in a front page article in The Tribune, on the Web sites for The Tribune and the New Albany Bicentennial, and on New Albany Bicentennial apparel and merchandise. The logo contest winner will also receive a prize package which will include a $200 cash award and recognition in the official New Albany Bicentennial program booklet.
The contest is open to any Floyd County native or anyone who lives or works in Floyd County. Entries received after deadline will not be considered. All designs must include the words, “New Albany Bicentennial 1813-2013” and the bicentennial theme, “By the River’s Edge,” but the core design elements must also be able to stand alone without these words. Any entrant submitting a non-computer generated design must provide an electronic version if the design is chosen as the winner. Logo designs should be submitted at one of the three locations listed below during regular business hours; entries may also be mailed to the Carnegie Center.
Complete entry guidelines, including design and submission requirements and legal information, can be downloaded from The Tribune’s website newsandtribune.com, and printed copies can be picked up at the Carnegie Center at 201 East Spring St., or at The Tribune, 303 Scribner Drive, or the New Albany-Floyd County Public Library, 180 West Spring St.
