Open house to mark store’s expansion
Sophie’s Hope Thrift Shoppe has expanded and has been able to more than double its size in six months. A grand reopening to celebrate the new space will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 29, at 3808 E. 10th St., Jeffersonville.
There will be free hot dogs and lots of fun for everyone. Donations will be accepted, but not mandatory. Proceeds go to Southern Indiana Animal Rescue to help meet the needs of rescued animals. Vendors space is available for $35 per month.

Ice cream social set
Blue Lick Christian Church, 16113 Memphis-Blue Lick Road, Henryville, will sponsor the 80th annual ice cream supper from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, July 28, at the church.
The day will include a quilt show with quilt raffle hand make by members, painting of local artist Rocky Gibson and a meal of barbecue, hot dogs, green beans, slaw, potato casserole, cake, pie and homemade ice cream.

40 & 8 holding open house
The 40 & 8 Club open house will be from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 29, at the club, 221 Albany St., New Albany.
Chicken and ribs dinners will be served from noon to 3 p.m. at a price of $6.
NAHS class of 2002 to reunite
The New Albany High School Class of 2002 will hold its 10-year reunion on Saturday, Sept. 22, at the Calumet Club, 1614 E. Spring St. in New Albany.
The adult-only reunion will be from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. and dinner will be served at 8 p.m. Tickets $40 until Sept. 21; $45 at the door.

Clarksville class of ’62 to reunite
The Clarksville High School Class of 1962 will be having a 50-year reunion Sept. 14-15.
