CLARK COUNTY —
Clark County Coroner Huck Coots said dental records have confirmed that a body discovered Aug. 27 near Bethlehem is that of 26-year-old Nina Keown.
Keown, of Lexington, Ind., was last seen Aug. 7 after a Scottsburg music festival.
Scott County Sheriff John Lizenby said Keown’s ex-husband, 32-year-old Robert “Bobby” Petty, led police to the woman’s body off New Washington-Bethlehem Road, where he admitted dumping the body. Police said evidence at the scene indicated it was Keown’s body, but it had not been officially confirmed.
Following Keown’s disappearance, Petty was arrested for violating his Clark County probation by being arrested in Scott County for domestic battery against Keown. He remains in the Clark County Jail on no bond.
While in jail, Petty agreed to speak to detectives and tell them where her body was located. Petty has not been charged in Keown’s death, but Lizenby has called him their only suspect.
He is scheduled to appear in Clark County Superior Court No. 1 on Friday for an attorney status hearing on his Clark County case.
