JEFFERSONVILLE — U.S. Vice President Joe Biden will be speaking on behalf of Indiana Rep. Baron Hill during a fundraising luncheon in Jeffersonville June 28.

Hill, a Democrat representing Indiana’s 9th District, is seeking re-election against Republican challenger Todd Young.

Hill campaign spokesman Daniel Altman said in an e-mail that Hill “raises the funds necessary to mount a successful campaign in Southern Indiana.”

“His fundraising efforts do not affect his voting decisions, as evidenced by his consistent ranking as one of the most moderate and independent members of Congress,” he said.

The luncheon is slated for 11:30 a.m. at Kye’s, located at 500 Missouri Ave.

Tickets are $2,400 for a VIP photo line ticket, or $250 for a general reception pass. Reservations must be made by June 18, and those that attend are asked to arrive early for security checks.

A photo identification card is required for admittance, and large bags are prohibited.

Contributions from registered federal lobbyists as well as corporate contributions are prohibited for this event.

For reservations, call Jordan Smeltzer of Hoosiers for Hill at 765-432-1867, or e-mail jordan@hoosiersforhill.com.
