NEW ALBANY —
A 16-year-old girl is in stable condition after being shot during a robbery Wednesday morning in New Albany.
Just after midnight, the girl was walking in the 100 block of Woodland Drive when she was approached by two black men who demanded money from her, according to New Albany Police Department Maj. Keith Whitlow. The girl was then shot in the upper torso by one of the men. Both men fled the scene on foot.
A 47-year-old man who was walking on the same street near the scene of the shooting was robbed of some cash by the same men. He was not injured.
The 16-year-old girl was taken to University of Louisville Hospital, where she was in stable condition, Whitlow said.
No arrests have been made.
