NEW ALBANY —
A police chase Wednesday in New Albany ended with one man arrested, facing multiple felony charges.
According to a press release from the New Albany Police Department, the chase began at about 1:30 p.m. when officers saw 33-year-old John S. Robinson, from New Albany, driving a pickup truck recklessly in the 600 block of West 7th Street. When officers tried to stop Robinson, he sped away and a chase ensued. The chase continued into the Silver Hills neighborhood, where Robinson crashed the truck into a pole in the 1300 block of Adams Street. Robinson then fled the truck and ran into a deep ravine, with police officers following on foot. He was eventually cornered and arrested by officers.
According to the report, the truck Robinson was driving had been reported stolen from Bullitt County. A license plate recovered in the truck was reported stolen from Washington County.
Robinson was preliminary charged with auto theft, receiving stolen property and two counts of resisting law enforcement.
