> SOUTHERN INDIANA —
Many local communities continue to recover from the March 2 tornadoes. Although the immediate needs of those directly affected by the disaster have been addressed, long-term recovery is still a major process. Currently, it is estimated that it will take 12 to 14 months to completely recover in all communities.
Recovery is an expensive process and many civic minded businesses and individuals are stepping up. In Marysville, T-shirts are being sold at Marysville Hardware to raise money to rebuild the Community Center. On May 19, there will be a barbecue fundraiser at the House of Refuge in Nabb from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. ValueMarket in Louisville will be preparing and serving ribeyes, chicken, bratwurst, hot dogs and corn on the cob. Proceeds will be donated to Rebuild Marysville. There will also be live music, face painting and activities for children.
