CLARKSVILLE —
A Louisville man was arrested by members of the Clarksville Narcotics Division on Wednesday and charged with multiple felonies.
Rivak Chiuiggo Kalfus, of the 2000 block of West Lee Street, faces preliminary charges of dealing in cocaine, a class A felony, possession of cocaine, a class A felony, and maintaining a common nuisance, a class D felony.
During the arrest, drug squad officers recovered 6 grams of cocaine, which has a reported street value of $1,000.
Clarksville Police Department Maj. Darrell Rayborn said drug squad members made the arrest in the parking lot of McDonald’s at the corner of Eastern Boulevard and Lewis and Clark Parkway about noon. Rayborn said Kalfus was taken into custody after arriving at the fast-food chain to allegedly make a drug deal.
He said drug squad members conducted an investigation of Kalfus leading to Wednesday’s arrest. Rayborn added that bystanders at the McDonald’s thanked the officers and even clapped in approval of the arrest.
Kalfus currently has charges pending in Clark County Circuit Court No. 4 for an unrelated incident. The charges were issued in May 2012 and include criminal confinement resulting in bodily injury, a class C felony, strangulation, a class D felony and being a habitual offender.
His next court appearance on the older charges is set for Aug. 27.
