Missing Sellersburg man’s family offers reward

$1,000 offered for information leading to location of Ethan Bennett of Sellersburg

SELLERSBURG — The family of Ethan Bennett has announced it is offering $1,000 for information on the whereabouts of the missing Sellersburg man.

Bennett, 19, was last seen by a “minor” family member around 11:30 p.m. on the night of Tuesday, Sept. 11. Bennett is now being sought by the Clark County Sheriff’s Department to verify his well-being, and other local law-enforcement agencies are aware of the search.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Department does not consider the case a criminal matter.

According to Detective Lt. Randy Burton, Bennett left the family’s Sellersburg home in a 2001 silver Jaguar, a family car. The car bears Indiana plates numbered RJU784. Bennett was last seen wearing khaki shorts and either a blue or white T-shirt.

A witness last saw Bennett driving the Jaguar on Veterans Parkway in Clarksville at around 9:30 a.m. Friday, turning south as though to take Interstate 65, Burton said.

Tony Bennett, Ethan Bennett’s father, said he and his wife were out of town the night that Ethan Bennett disappeared. Tony Bennett said the minor family member Ethan Bennett spoke to did not note any unusual behavior.

Anyone who encounters Ethan Bennett is encouraged to call the Clark County Sheriff’s Department dispatch line at 812-246-6996. Anonymous tips concerning the disappearance can be submitted by calling 812-280-2276.
