> SOUTHERN INDIANA —
New Albany/Floyd County Habitat for Humanity is in search of volunteers and donations to assist with “Raise the Roof over Southern Indiana,” a blitz-build project that will construct houses for tornado victims in Henryville.
The blitz build will take place Oct. 8-12 in the Twin Oaks subdivision in Henryville, and families are projected to be moved into their new homes by Christmas of this year.
To volunteer, visit www.habitatindiana.org, click on the calendar and pick a date with volunteer spaces available. Volunteers are needed both during and after the blitz week.
In addition to volunteers, more donations are needed for this project. The Ogle Foundation has committed to a 3-to-1 match on donations up to $150,000.
The Community Foundation of Southern Indiana is coordinating the Habitat fundraising efforts. To donate, mail checks made payable to the Community Foundation of Southern Indiana, 4104 Charlestown Road, New Albany, IN 47150. Online donations are being accepted on the foundation’s website, www.cfsouthernindiana.com.
