NEW ALBANY —
A dispute over a tattoo that involved a man beating another man unconscious in late August led to an arrest made by New Albany police Friday.
Tracey D. Tankersley, 29, of the 200 block of Spring Avenue, was arrested at his home on a warrant issued in Floyd County Superior Court No. 1 on Sept. 12.
The arrest warrant was grounded on a charge of battery committed by means of a deadly weapon or resulting in serious bodily injury, a class C felony.
Police said the assault took place Aug. 29 at a residence in the 100 block of East 13th Street.
The argument appeared to have occurred after the victim refused to give Tankersley a tattoo, police said, but added the specifics of what caused the dispute are undetermined.
The victim did suffer a broken jaw and multiple lacerations, police said.
