JEFFERSONVILLE — One person has been arrested and a warrant issued for another for a burglary the two allegedly committed in March.

Dana Redmond, 20, of Jeffersonville, was arrested and charged with burglary, a class B felony, after police said she and her boyfriend, Ryan Crutcher broke into a home in Jeffersonville.

According to the probable cause affidavit, police were able to track down Redmond after she sold an Xbox console allegedly taken from the home to a pawn shop off Dixie Highway in Louisville. Redmond received $65 for the console, according to the report.

In addition to the Xbox, the property owner said an iPod touch and a digital camera were taken from her home.

When police questioned Redmond, she said she received the Xbox from a friend of her boyfriend’s brother, according to the probable-cause affidavit. Crutcher, who was waiting in the parking lot of the police station during questioning, was also interviewed by police, but could not corroborate Redmond’s story. Police questioned a third individual believed to be involved and confirmed that Redmond and Crutcher had entered and burglarized the home, according to the report.

A warrant has been issued for Crutcher’s arrest and Redmond was arrested and charged with a class B felony burglary. A class B felony carries a penalty of 6 to 20 years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines.

A trial for the charges against Redmond has been scheduled in November in Clark County Circuit Court No. 4.



Arrest at Walgreens

In an unrelated case, Joshua R. Robertson, 22, of Jeffersonville was arrested and charged with several misdemeanors after allegedly being kicked out of Walgreens along Spring Street in Jeffersonville.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Robertson was in Walgreens when a store manager approached him because he was apparently intoxicated and acting suspicious. The store manager asked him to leave, but believed that Robertson took a box of playing cards and several packages of cold medicine, according to the probable-case affidavit.

When Jeffersonville Police Department officers arrived they approached Robertson who was loitering in the parking lot. He was questioned by police and told them he was waiting in the parking lot to go drinking with friends. Robertson was also asked why he was shirtless, to which he responded that he had vomited on the shirt and took it off, according to the report.

During questioning police say they noticed a package in Robertson’s back pocket, at which point he began to curse at officers and then began to fight with them. At one point during the struggle, Robertson allegedly kicked one of the officers in the chest.

After he was subdued and arrested, police searched and found several packages of Coricidin, a type of cold and cough medicine, and playing cards. They also located his shirt, which was wrapped around several additional packages of cold medicine, according to the probable-cause affidavit.

The Walgreens manager was approached by police after Robertson was detained and told officers he had found about 20 opened boxes of Coricidin in the store’s bathroom.

Robertson was charged with a class A misdemeanor battery, resisting law enforcement — a class A misdemeanor — and public intoxication — a class B misdemeanor. No official theft charges have been filed yet, according to Clark County Court records.

The combined charges carry a maximum penalty of 2 1/2  years in prison and up to $11,000 in fines.
