> SOUTHERN INDIANA — The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for Clark County and a severe thunderstorm watch for Floyd County, both until 10 p.m.

According to the weather service, scattered strong to severe storms will be possible this afternoon and evening as a warm front pushes northward across Indiana. The main threats will be large hail, isolated damaging winds, excessive lightning and isolated tornadoes. A few warnings — including one tornado warning — have already been issued with the system, though not in the immediate metro area.

The active weather is expected to settle down on Wednesday and Thursday, with highs in the mid 80s. More storms are expected during the weekend.
