Bridal show coming up
Southern Indiana’s eighth-annual premiere bridal show will be from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, at the Calumet Club, 1614 E. Spring St., New Albany.
Admission is free for the bride and groom. Guest admission is $5 per person. More than 30 different vendors providing wedding services will be in attendance. Register online at thecalumetclub.com
Animal control meeting is Thursday
The New Albany-Floyd County Animal Control Authority meeting will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, in the Maxwell Education Room at the shelter, 215 W. Market St., New Albany.
The public is invited.
Health Fair set for Saturday
St. Marks United Church of Christ, 222 E. Spring St., New Albany, will host its fifth-annual Neighborhood Health Fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at the church.
This community event provides health and wellness services for adults and children at no cost. Free vision screenings and eyeglasses provided by EDGE Outreach/WaterStep Ministries and the Lions Club; flu shots; blood pressure and blood sugar screenings by Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services; haircuts, chiropractic screenings, chair massages, women’s health education, literacy and social service resources will also be available at no cost during the fair.
Refreshments will be served all day, with a free hot meal served from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bilingual interpreters will be available. For more information, call 812-945-2569.
FCHS Choirs presenting concert
The Floyd Central Choirs, under the direction of Angela Hampton, will present their annual Popappella concert at 7 tonight, Feb. 19, in the Floyd Central Auditorium.
The A Cappella Choir, Chamber Singers, Men’s and Women’s choirs, along with local folk band The Hart Strings, will present a fun evening of familiar pop songs. Cost is $3 at the door.
Methodist Men holding Flapjack Feed
The Clark County United Methodist Men are sponsoring a Flapjack Feed from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at Henryville High School, 214 N. Ferguson St., Henryville.
The cost is $6 for all-you-can-eat flapjacks, sausage links and drink.
Theatre costume demonstrations at library
The Clarksville Branch of the Jeffersonville Township Public Library, 1312 Eastern Blvd., Clarksville, will sponsor Indiana University Southeast Costume Shop Manager Natalie Bowman as she demonstrates techniques in modern theatre costume design from 6 to 7 p.m. Feb. 28 at the library.
She will have renderings and completed examples of her current designs for the IU Southeast spring production of Shakespeare’s “Hamlet.” At the end of the program, names will be drawn to win complimentary tickets to see IU Southeast’s production of “Hamlet” held March 7 to 10 and 14 to 17 on campus.

Audition for 'Wedding Singer'
Clarksville Little Theatre, 301 E. Montgomery Ave., Clarksville, will hold auditions for “Wedding Singer” at 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, at the theatre.
Show dates are 8 p.m. May 10 , 11, 16, 17 and 18 and 2 p.m. May 12.
Hamburg Church of Christ hosting speaker
Hamburg Church of Christ, 8921 Newberry Road, Sellersburg, is sponsoring a program featuring Bryson Childs from Paragould, Ark., from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, at the church.
He will be speaking about L.I.F.E. Missions, using the home to change the world. He will explain in detail how each of us can use what we have to bring others to a saving knowledge of our savior.

Author to speak at Christian Academy Gala
Author and speaker Dr. Bruce Wilkinson will be featured at The Christian Academy Gala: Investing in Children, Raising in Truth presented by Norton Healthcare on Thursday, Feb. 21, at The Henry Clay, 604 S. Third St., Louisville.
A silent auction will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner. The charge is $75 per individual or $600 per table of eight. Tickets may be purchased by visiting www.caschools.us/gala .
