Two men are being held in Scott County Jail for alleged drug dealing, police said Wednesday.
Danny J. Eversole, 46, of West Booe Road in Austin, and Anthony “Tony” L. Pastrick, 32, of Scottsburg, were arrested in separate incidents this week, said Indiana State Police Sgt. Jerry Goodin in a news release.
Both men are accused of selling drugs to undercover ISP troopers, Goodin said.
Eversole was arrested at his home Monday and charged with two counts of dealing in a schedule II controlled substance. Schedule II controlled substances are typically legal, but strictly controlled under state and federal statutes.
Drugs in that class include stimulants such as Ritalin and Adderall, and painkillers such as Percocet, morphine, Oxycontin and Dilaudid. They can be taken or purchased under prescription, but any unauthorized use or purchase is typically subject to felony drug-diversion laws.
Pastrick was arrested Tuesday during a traffic stop by Scottsburg city police. When they entered his information into their computer system, police learned he was wanted on a warrant for allegedly dealing in methamphetamine.
The dealing charges each man faces is a class B felony, which could lead to six to 20 years incarceration and a $10,000 fine per count in the event of a conviction. As of publication deadline, Eversole and Pastrick were awaiting their first court appearances.
